The Soup Kitchen Project, initiated and realized by BNP PARIBAS S.A. – Sofia Branch’s employees starts its 6th season. This charitable undertaking of the bank has been successfully helping people in need in Sofia Municipality since 2001.
The monthly donations of each employee, which are doubled by the bank, as well as the support of our current partners in this initiative have been providing the people in need with warm soup and bread five days a week every winter since the project has started.
The Soup Kitchen project has been a remarkable success: this year we will be able to distribute1650 meals per day over the entire winter period from the beginning of December to end of March – a number 10 times bigger than at the beginning of the project.

The project’s importance grew bigger every year and was acknowledged also by the Bulgarian business community: in November 2006, the Bulgarian Business Leaders Forum awarded the Project Soup Kitchen a first prize in the category “Investor in Community” on the Annual Responsible Business Awards. The numerous letters, showing the gratitude of the supported citizens are the most objective proof that Sofia Municipality, BNP Paribas and large sponsors like International Women’s Club Sofia, London Sofia Property and numerous other partners together took the right direction.
This season, we expand further our activities in Sofia and have already opened a similar center in Varna on 29th of November, increasing once more the total number. In addition to this, the Bank will provide warm sweaters and T-Shirts to each eligible person.

This year, the 6th season will start on 3 December in Sofia at 12:00 in a distribution center in Ljulin, 309 Street, where until the 31st of March 2008 200 people in need will receive daily meals. The rest of the beneficiaries will receive their meals in the other 11 distribution centers throughout Sofia.
